A family history of the Flemings who came from Perthshire in 1843 to settle in Derby Township, Grey County. We follow the family into the mid 1900s as they dispersed across North America..
Dorothy Eleanor Ann was my grandmother on my Dad’s side of the family. Unfortunately, my family was unable to attend the Fleming reunion, but we would be interested in seeing what information you have gathered to date. I have gathered some information as well and would be happy to share it with you.
Hi Maureen. Ruth has emailed you and described the photos and documents she has. Part 4 of the planned book will be about the third and fourth generations – where people lived, their profession, their remarkable qualities etc. I expect we’ll be working on that part in 2016, and will look forward to learning more about what you have collected.
Hi Gabriella – sorry for delay in answering – would need to know more to answer this question. Family tree doesn’t have the Roff name but the tree doesn’t extend to the present – eventually, due to lack of records, it was impossible to trace all descendants. More information would help in tracking this down. Is the Fleming connection on the maternal or paternal side – and what was that person’s name? The families were very large. Alexander Fleming and Ann Garvie had 10 children – it’s conceivable that Kerri is a descendant and would be interested in the recently published book of the Fleming Family History. Email me at gwen.harris@sympatico.ca if you’d like to pursue this.
